ABCO Bylaws

The ABCO Bylaws provide for the organizational structure and operations of the corporation. Among other things, the Bylaws provide for the formation and structure of the ABCO Board of Directors.

The ABCO is an independent organization and is not affiliated with any of the organizations that are on the Board of Directors or have been provided an opportunity to be on the Board of Directors, and, specifically, is not affiliated with or endorsed by the AAO, AOA, ARBO, NBEO, COVD, or the ABMS. While the ABCO Bylaws provide that various organizations are entitled to seats on the Board, this should not be construed to mean that those organizations have endorsed or are affiliated with the ABCO. Nonetheless, per the demands of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the ABCO Bylaws have been amended to rescind the invitation for the AOA to have a seat on the ABCO Board of Directors if it desired one. The Resolution and Bylaws Amendment is attached to the Bylaws as the last page.

The ABCO regrets that the AOA has declined its offer to participate in the management of the ABCO. An ABCO Press Release addressing this decision is available below for viewing.
